[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We’re always looking to innovate at the Chippendale school.
From recently introducing our one-week introductory course and one-month intermediate course, to our fun and informative weekend woodturning courses.
We’re pleased now to announce the date of next year’s upholstery course.
You can find some basic information here, as well as an application form here.
One of the great things about learning at the Chippendale school is that we keep numbers of students low.
That allows for maximum one-to-one tuition, and for novices to become highly proficient. But it does mean that early booking is recommended.
Course for all
While upholstery isn’t a core subject within our woodworking courses, it’s a complementary skill that is very useful to have.
It’s the reason why two professional course graduates also enrolled in the upholstery course that we ran this summer.
But that doesn’t mean that the course is only aimed at those with some upholstery experience.
The course is flexibly aimed at complete upholstery novices, as well as those who want to learn new skills from our course expert.
All equipment and materials are provided, which will then allow students to upholster their own furniture at home.
It also provides students with the skills to rescue old and worn pieces and bring them back to new life.
Upcycling
Our course tutor is the experienced and talented Victoria Meacham, who is a graduate of the Chippendale school’s professional course.
She is also a member of the Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers and runs VM Furnishing.
Her company is an upholstery business that combines teaching upholstery with furniture upcycling.
She also undertakes domestic and contract upholstery and furniture design projects, working with both interior designers and the public.
The course will run from 7th to 11th September 2020.
Course fees are £600, with a £200 deposit payable to secure your place. The balance is then payable one month before the start of the course.
