Our one-week upholstery course is taught by Victoria Meacham, an experienced teacher and a member of the Association of Master Upholsters & Soft Furnishers.
She runs VM Furnishing, an upholstery business which combines teaching upholstery and furniture upcycling, with domestic and contract upholstery and furniture design projects, working with interior designers and the public.
She has taught upholstery to private individuals and in group workshops, including working for Edinburgh City Council’s adult education program.
The course will cover the basics of traditional and modern upholstery from horse hair to foam, and all tools and sundries will be supplied.
If you have a chair or footstool at home that is in need of reupholstering then, for Victoria’s advice, feel free to bring it in later in the week.
Our upholstery course will run from 7th – 11th September 2020 and, because places are limited, early booking is advised.
The fee for each short course is £600, with a £200 deposit payable to secure your place, the balance of the fees is then payable one month before the start of the course.
