We’re excited to now be offering our most accessible course yet for anyone wanting to learn some basic woodworking skills.
Our new summer woodturning weekends are aimed at woodworking novices who want to get a feel for what woodworking is all about, but learn skills that they can then apply to many kinds of DIY projects.
Over each weekend, students will make a stool or plant stand, with a wooden turned top and three legs, while learning how to work a lathe, how to make tenons, tapered legs, and sand and finish on the lathe.
It adds up to a fun and informative two days and, if students master the core skills being taught, they’ll also have an opportunity to turn a bowl.
Our weekend woodturning courses will be taught by Adam Stone, the school’s woodturning specialist, who is pictured here hard at work.
The courses will run over a number of weekends this summer:
6th – 7th July
20th -21st July
3rd – 4th August
17th – 18th August
Early booking is advised as each course has a maximum of only 4 students. You can download an application form here
Fees
The fee for each weekend course is £300, which covers tuition and materials, with a £100 deposit payable to secure your place, with the balance payable one month before the start of the course.
