It looks a bit mad now, but we can’t wait to see the finished rocking chair.
The “infinity chair” is a work in progress for Aberdeenshire-born Ruaraidh Stewart, a former soldier with the Black Watch (3 Scots).
It’s so named because the back rest turns into the arm rest which then turns into the rocker itself, all in one loop.
It’s a challenging task to make the design work, using several layers of bendy plywood, which will be veneered in sycamore.
It’s certainly a rocking chair unlike any other, and we’ll bring you pictures of the finished article.
Ruaraidh’s post-graduation plan at the moment is to set up in business on the school campus, making use of incubation space here at the school.
