The Chippendale school has an international reputation that attracts students from across the world – even for our introductory and intermediate courses.
These one-week and one-month courses have proved exceptionally popular, with recent intermediate course students coming from Germany and Brazil.
We’ve also had recent introductory course students from Taiwan, Italy, and Germany, with the latter two students then enrolling onto our nine-month professional course.
The introductory course is designed to give students some core skills, and is intensive, hands-on and very rewarding. The March course is now full, but there are other courses later in the year.
It’s a course aimed at those wanting to better undertake DIY tasks or, for some, to find out if a career in fine furniture design and making might be for them.
To make that decision easier, if an introductory course student does enrol onto a professional course, the introductory course fees are deducted.
The intermediate course is also hands-on and intensive, but students learn a much broader range of skills, and during the course will make quite complex pieces of furniture.
Start and finishing dates can be organised around each student and, if students cannot commit to a single month, we can divide the course into smaller segments.
It’s not enough to set you on a professional career path, but it does allow students to really raise their skill levels and enjoy their woodworking hobby to the full.
