Most students with furniture design experience usually also have some basic woodworking skills.
Not so Heather Jones from Los Angeles who was an art director and graphic designer, and who therefore already has the visual and artistic skills to design her own pieces.
It’s a creativity she has further developed over the years as one of her hobbies is designing furniture – but without having the skills to make it.
She decided it was time to put right that deficit and learn everything she needs to turn her visual designs into completed realities.
She’ll decide during the year what she’ll do after graduation.
Her creative and graphic design background is a fascinating one, and we look forward to seeing the kinds of furniture that Heather will design and make.
