We are delighted to announce the Chippendale School’s annual Graduate Exhibition and Fine Furniture Sale will be returning on the 15th-18th of June 2022.
The graduating students of our 2021/2022 Professional Course will reveal the fruits of 9-months of labour in a showcase of exquisite furniture designs and impressive craftsmanship.
Each year, our Professional Course attracts aspiring woodworkers from across the globe. This year was no different. In October 2021, we welcomed 27 students from the UK, Ireland, India, Italy, Germany, Columbia, Chile and Switzerland, to begin a 30-week training course that would equip them with the skills and acumen to successfully establish their own furniture making business.
We are thrilled to now exhibit the outstanding finished pieces of these students in the 2022 Graduate Show.
What to expect
Among the students showcasing their work is Molly Johnson, who joined the course after an 8-year career as a Fashion & Home Stylist in the USA. The founder of Oddball Studio, Molly’s designs typically include funky patterns, bold colours and an 80’s touch, making for playful yet striking pieces.
Also on the course is Valerio Marconi, a scientist turned woodworker from Italy. Solutions-driven, Valerio seeks to create functional furniture that resolves an issue or concern – be that aesthetic or practical. Keep an eye out for his refined, stylish designs at the show.

“We are delighted to announce that our annual Graduate Exhibition and Fine Furniture Sale is returning for its 37th year in June.
“As always, the event will celebrate the fantastic achievements of our graduating students, with a showcase and sale of their outstanding fine furniture designs.
“For many, this is the first time they will publicly display and sell their work, marking a new phase in their furniture-making career.
“Following on from the success of last year, we will also be hosting a virtual showcase so that visitors from across the globe can enjoy the event. We received amazing feedback from our online guests last year and are excited to deliver this again.”

In addition to the in-person event, a pre-recorded showcase will be available on the Chippendale School’s website and social media channels to allow visitors further afield to marvel at the exceptional work produced by the graduating furniture makers.
