Our reputation for teaching excellence, and the quality of our learning environment, means that we often have students coming long distances to study with us.

This year, our professional course had students from Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland, USA, India, Singapore, Germany, Trinidad & Tobago, and the Falkland Islands – as well as far-flung parts of the UK.

A few weeks ago, a student on one of our one-week introductory courses was from Germany, and our Student’s Choice award this year went to a graduate from Italy – who came on an introductory course last year.

We now have Mara Dreger from Sao Paulo in Brazil with us for our new one-month intermediate course, which is primarily aimed at woodworking hobbyists who are keen to move their skills to the next level.

Mara, who is a paediatric doctor, has long been a weekend woodworker, making items such as chairs and tables.

She’s keen to learn new skills and, as part of her course will be making an ash box to take home with her.

We only launched our intermediate course earlier this year, and it’s already proving a success – and two graduates have already signed up for our professional course starting later this year!

It’s great advantages are that only two students at a time can come on the course, maximising one-to-one tuition, and there are no start or end dates, allowing students to choose dates that suit them.
