Matthew McGlone, originally from Manchester but long-time resident of Scotland, is someone who has had a long-term fascination with wood.
He’s also a literature lover, having a degree in English Literature from the University of St Andrews, and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Stirling.
At St Andrews, Matthew studied under the celebrated poet Kathleen Jamie, and it was at her invitation that he then enrolled at Stirling.
Matthew’s other passion for wood goes back to his early childhood spent bushcrafting in woods, fashioning spoons from small pieces of wood.
His plan is to set up in business for himself, probably near Stirling, but, longer-term, he’d ideally like to move to the north of Scotland.
