For some people, retirement means putting your feet up.
Not so for Fiona Davis from Edinburgh, who is one of two new intermediate course students who started with us last week.
Fiona, not long retired from a career in financial services, is not only learning new woodworking skills but is also learning Italian and brushing up on her French.
She is a keen woodworking hobbyist who first came to the Chippendale school on one of our one-week introductory courses, never having even held a chisel before, and since then has been on other woodworking courses.
One of the great advantages of the Chippendale school is that our introductory course only has a maximum of ten students, and our one-month intermediate course only ever has two students.
It means that the time for one-to-one tuition is maximised, with students therefore able to learn a great deal more.
We also aim to be as flexible as possible on start and finishing dates, with the intermediate course built around your other commitments.
It means that, if you can’t commit to a whole month, we’re happy for students to complete the course in more manageable two-week segments.
Because of the popularity of our introductory courses, the December course is now full. However, places remain on our 2019 courses, the first being 18th to 22nd March. Do get in touch!
