Relaunching the Fine Furniture Guild

The Fine Furniture Guild was established in 2017 by Chippendale School founder Anselm Fraser, to celebrate its alumni and help connect fine furniture makers with consumers. We have been working hard on developing a new look and feel for the Guild in our 35th anniversary year and are excited to announce the launch of our new website: www.finefurnitureguild.com.

An independent member organisation, the Fine Furniture Guild (FFG) promotes the work of qualified makers who have successfully completed the School’s renowned Professional Furniture Making Course. The Guild is made up of talented makers who have undertaken extensive training in furniture design, cabinet making and restoration skills.

Each FFG member will have studied traditional craft techniques and modern making methods during our intensive 9-month learning programme before creating fine furniture pieces as unique as their fingerprint.

Tom Fraser, principal of the Chippendale School says:

“For many, studying at the Chippendale School marks the beginning of a lifelong adventure into woodworking and furniture making. We are passionate about nurturing creativity and talent and helping individuals find their design language and make their mark from the outset.

“When the course ends, we wanted to ensure that we can continue to provide support to help each student as they take their first steps as professional fine furniture makers.

“We hope that the FFG will serve as a launchpad for Chippendale School alumni, helping to shine a light on the work of our skilled makers based here in the UK and around the world.

“The FFG reflects a global network of talented cabinet makers, who have been shaped by their time and experiences at the School and we hope it will support them as they grow their fine furniture businesses over time.”
