Isobel Edgar Chippendale school student welfare

Isobel Edgar

We are sorry to announce that one of the Chippendale school’s longest-standing members of staff died on Saturday 2nd March after suffering a stroke some days earlier.

Isobel Edgar had worked with the Chippendale team for 25 years, primarily in her role as student welfare officer.

She was dedicated to the school, helping our students with everything from doctors and dentists to sorting out cars and accommodation.

Her dedication knew no bounds and she was always willing to go the extra mile, helping our students, many from overseas, to settle into an unfamiliar part of the world.

It’s a role that we particularly value, as the Chippendale school has always stood for student welfare, and Isobel epitomised that ethos of care and support.

She will be sorely missed by the school community, and our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

A memorial will be held at Seafield Crematorium in Edinburgh at 11am on Saturday 16th March and then afterwards at the Tweeddale Arms Hotel in Gifford.
