Rachel Faulkner from Newcastle comes to us having served in the Merchant Navy.
She allowed her artistic and practical side take over and is now retraining as a professional woodworker.
While she has no formal experience in furniture design and woodworking she has tried her hand at pyrography and built simple pieces of furniture including a blanket box.
Right at the moment she’s loving being at the school, and currently learning the dark arts of making the perfect dovetail joint.
Rachel hopes to make woodworking her career, whether from incubation space at the school initially, or returning to Newcastle.
