Our furthest travelled student on our December introductory course was Steve Reid, all the way from Hong Kong.

Steve, originally from Wales, has taught design technology at an international school in Hong Kong for over twenty years, although he originally qualified as a woodwork teacher.

He taught woodworking at schools in Swansea before moving abroad, and is now considering whether or not to enrol on one of our 30-week professional courses.

For Steve, it’s about deciding to follow either his head or heart, because woodworking is the place where Steve started from, and which remains his real passion.

He does therefore already have many woodworking skills and, over the years, has made everything from staircase bannisters to a dining table, and from jewellery boxes to writing desks.

We’d be delighted to welcome Steve back to the school.
