Our one-week introductory courses attract people of all ages and backgrounds who often come from overseas or far-flung places in the UK.
We are always delighted to welcome family members on the same course, and it was a pleasure to have son Chris and his father, André Coner with us last week.
Chris lives in Edinburgh, while his father lives in Dunbar on the East Lothian coast, although André is originally from The Netherlands where Chris was born.
Chris, who works for the University of Edinburgh as a Research Governance Coordinator, has long been interested in woodworking, mostly from the necessity of fixing things around his home.
However, Chris is so taken with woodworking that, in the best of all possible worlds, he’d like to enroll on one of our professional courses – and if he does, his short course fees will be deducted.
His father André, who works in financial services, has also been a keen woodworker, but not of the furniture kind. He has, for example, built a conservatory to his home.
Both have enjoyed a great week at the school and, if Chris decides that a new career in woodworking beckons, we’d be delighted to welcome him back on one of our professional courses.
