Ruaraidh Stewart, from Aberdeenshire, is a 2018 graduate and new member of the Fine Furniture Guild.
A former soldier with the Black Watch (3 Scots) who saw service in Afghanistan, Ruaraidh has set up The Georgian Kitchen Company.
He combined his studies at the Chippendale school with making two monumental wardrobes for a customer in Edinburgh.
He’s now moved into incubation space at the school, where former students can set up in business for themselves, and has won a commission to make an entire kitchen for a client in Edinburgh.
The project, in oak and beech, involves cupboards and work surfaces, with a wine rack and a cleverly-designed tray storage rack.
Membership of The Fine Furniture Guild is only open to successful graduates of the Chippendale school, and is our endorsement of their design and making skills.
